How can my wife get financial aid for college?

My wife owes Okie State 3k and had to drop out of college. She wants to go back now but we don’t have 3k to pay them back for the other stuff. Can we get Financial Aid to cover that previous 3k???

As long as she owes that OSU money they will not release her transcript to attend another school. Getting fin aid to pay after the fact is pretty impossible. Best save some dough and pay off the school… some schools will put you on an auto payment and this will satisfy the requirements enought to release her transcript.

Get divorced while she is going through school. Couples do this all the time when they are trying to send their kids to college.

coverig the previous 3k- prob not. but in the future- filing a fafsa to see if she would be awarded financial aid from the government. but unless ur getting scholarship money that u can use anyway u wanted- that 3k is ur responsibilty tp pay back. sorry

It will be hard to get the previous balance covered. They will let her defer it if she goes back and then she can wait until she graduates to start making payments. But right now, she can apply for FAFSA and see if she qualifies. The next best thing to that is to meet with her school advisor and they have a ton of grants, scholarships, or loans at last resort. They have a book of all the new scholarships and grants and how to apply. Hope this helps!
