My wife graduated “suma” from North Eastern University with a 4 year degree. She could not get a job. Then she went to a “one year secretarial school to become a “legal Secretary”" and now makes quite a decent living….AND….”no debt”

i live in Finland and we have free education and u can study as high as you want

in my opinion education is the corner stone for building a great country
and thus should be free

Perpetual debt in America is what makes our economy function. How insidious it may be. Perpetual debt is like quicksand. The harder you fight it, the more you sink. I read that if everyone in the country, from the government to private corporations to private citizens paid off all their debts. There wouldn’t be $1 left in circulation today. US money isn’t backed up by anything of value. It’s only backed up by debt. Private banks create money out of loans (debt).

Yeah, Anybody who thinks they will pay off average student loan debt without working 60-70 hours per week for a few years is insane. I’m in public accounting, and my sister is in big law. Both work these hours. Too many people feel entitled. Welcome to the real world, and start working hard. Two, three jobs…and live frugally. Move back in with the parents too. You can’t have everything people. Stop complaining and work.

Very true..after nursing school (2nd time in college) i decided i would pay 1000.00 a month till the debt was gone.You have to come up with a plan…we are not all fortunate enough to just leave the debt behind

I can totally relate to this. If I had stayed at NYU, I would have been $150,000 in debt. I transferred, so i only have $45,000 in student loans. I’m desperately trying to create a financial plan so that I’m stable by the time I graduate (Spring 2010). I’m scared to death that I won’t be stable by that time and will have to take a job desperately that I don’t like.

I think it’s best if you buy a new brain remember to buy one used because you’re not using yours. For your information I’m not against education I’m against this idiotic notion that the only way to get education is through college that’s not education it’s indoctrination.
