I will also like to state that there can be situation that you will have a loan and do not need a co-signer such as a National Student Support Loan. However, if you are getting a loan through a classic loan company then you need to be prepared to have a co-signer ready to enable you to. The lenders will probably base any decision on a few factors but the most significant will be your credit standing. There are some loan companies that will furthermore look at your work history and determine based on this but in many cases it will depend on your rating.

I AM SINGLE MOM OF THREE WORKING BUT NOT EARNING ENOUGH WITH THE HIGH RENT AND UTILITIE BILLS PLUS PAYING FOR FOOD AND DAYCARE COST I SOMETIMES OWE RENT AND BILLS ARE NOT PAID ON TIME. I REALLY NEED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL PLEASE HELP STEER ME IN THE DIRECTION WERE TO APPLY FOR THESE GRANTS?

I am a single mom who is currently attending college. I started in March 2010 and recieved some financial assistance but nothing near 5000. Is it up to me to ask for the grant from Obama? And is it too late to ask since I’ve started school already?

I am a single mom who needs to go back to school. My recent divorce left me with little on my resume and bad credit. Struggling to study for the LSAT in hopes to get into law school, I am discouraged because I know I won’t be able to afford to pay for my living expenses. I will be eligible for full financial aide due to my low income but, still it won’t be enough for living expenses. I am in good standing with student loans. Is Obama’s plan designed to help the “real single moms” who don’t have good enough credit as a result of struggling to do it all by themselves?
